Modern Religious Experience: Reflection #4: Buddhist Meditation

Modern Religious Experience: Reflection #4: Buddhist Meditation: "Spend 20 mintues in a silent meditation; a place you won't be disturbed, your own 'fig tree' as was Buddha's inspiration. In those 20 mintue..."
I find it very hard to concentrate because that is what I lack most. The place where I meditate is in a place where drunk people often fight with my dog. It's pretty annoying because that man keeps shouting at my dog and the only thing my dog can do is bark. It was hard clearing my mind because my hands couldn't stop scratching all the mosquito bites i had. When it was all quiet, I felt a green hill, breathing through cool breeze. The meditation helped me realize that I was having a good life. All I could think of were negative things. I felt appreciated.
